Letter to collect PDVL card
As you can see, I am required to go to LTA at Sin Ming Drive to collect the PDVL card.
It also states that I need to wear a collared shirt for the photo taking for the license card.
I prepare the items as instructed on the letter.
A) NRIC - checked
B) Driving License - checked
C) Vocational License if any - checked (I don't have)
D) A recent passport-size photograph of myself - (Che... wait what?
I thought i am going to wear a collared shirt for a photo taking at LTA? Nah, this must be a mistake. At most, i am sure there is a photo booth in LTA if i really need a passport size photograph)
I didn't sleep much that night and woke up early that day in hope to avoid the traffic jam. I enter my car, key in the destination on Waze , The Herencia. That's right, i keyed in the wrong address thinking i was going to STA! Just as i was turning out of my carpark then i realized i keyed in the wrong address! Heng ah! I quickly check the letter and confirm I am suppose to go to LTA at Sin Ming Drive.
The drive there was pretty smooth but i was slightly late. You can park at the open carpark opposite of LTA with the ERP gantry to save your trouble of tearing coupons. I arrived at around 8:49am but it seems nobody seems to care that i was late!
Anyway, I quickly proceed to the reception counter and show them the letter, the lady then gave me a ticket number and asked me to go to the second floor to wait there.

The queue at LTA was little. I saw someone's number being called and I stand in a distance listening in, hoping to understand the process before it was my turn. The lady behind the counter told the man he needs to bring his passport size photograph and come back when he has it!
Me and that man (later introduced as angelcheng) was dumbfounded. I know i do not have to wait for my number to get the same notice from the lady behind the counter. I approached the guy and told him I too did not bring my passport size photograph.
I went to the first floor and I asked at the reception where the photo booth is. The lady then tells me there is no photo booth in the LTA building! The nearest place to take a passport size photograph is at Block 22 and it may not be open at this early hour!
I saw angelcheng at the entrance of LTA and told him what the reception lady told me and ask him if he wants to go together. He agreed and we chatted along the way while walking towards Block 22. Angelcheng was a nice person to talk with and he told me he was driving for Grab meantime while looking for a full time job.
We followed what we saw as we walked down the slope from LTA towards the blocks. We saw amd walked to block 24, then 23 but couldn't find block 22. It was actually beside block 25 which was 500-700 meters away on the other side! So here's the map for whoever is reading if you ever encounter the same scenario as me!

Luckily the photo shop was opened when we got there. It cost me $12 for 4 passport size photos.
There was no waiting time, the machine printed out our photos and the nice Indian lady cut them into the correct size and off we go.
We went back and had to take a new queue number. We proceed to second floor and waited. It was very fast and soon it was our turn. Angelcheng went first and when it was my turn, I gave the lady behind the counter my photograph and showed her my NRIC and driving license. Then i was told to wait for room 42 to call my number again.
While waiting, angelcheng formally introduce himself to me and i too introduce myself to him, then i told him about our discord chatgroup and invited him to join.
Room 42 called angelcheng's number and my number together so we both went in at the same time. The photo on our PDVL card was the passport size photo we took at block 22. (So much for wearing a collared shirt for photo taking for the license!)

We were asked to proceed to Room 50 after collecting our PDVL card. Room 50 had 2 tablets in there with a girl sitting inside the room. She told us to do some survey questions on the tablet and the survey was anonymous. Huh huh....

Anyway, me and angelcheng bidded farewell to each other and we carried on to start our day!
I noticed there was an expiry date from the leftover slip from the collection letter.
So I expect to go for a refresher PDVL course on September 2020.
